In 2023, Changing Young Lives Foundation resumed the education support program in Lanzhou to continue serving impoverished children from Dongxiang County, Gansu Province.
There are around 4,000 migrant children from the rural Dongxiang living in Lanzhou. Many of them are from financially deprived, single-parent, unemployed and illiterate families, orphans or children of prisoners. With no family backing and loving care, these children are in pressing need of learning resources, personal development and mental wellbeing support.
The resumed program provides academic, capacity building and psychological support to 200 migrant children from Dongxiang every year, assisting them to build resilience and identify positive life values.
