Our Centre |
|
| |
It is sad and depressing to know that living in the glamorous city of Hong Kong there are more than 380,000 underprivileged children. These are not crisis children; they are known as the forgotten children. Their homes can be as small as 80sq ft and the familyˇ¦s income could be as low as $4,500 per month. It has been our goal to provide a Learning Centre for these children and we started this project four years ago.
Today, we are proud to announce the opening of our Learning Centre. The children living in Shek Kep Mei will have a home away from home, where development, education and participation pro-grammes will continue during the day. There is no charge for the different programmes. The Centre is situated on the Ground Floor of Units 1-14 of Block Ten in Pak Tin Estate. Inside the Centre four learning rooms are used to teach English, computer skills, arts and crafts. Tutorial classes are held everyday. There is a gym room and a dance studio. The Home Economics room is designed for those who enjoy cooking, and the music room is equipped with recording facility. |
